Theater
August & Amy
Edina High School, in association with Hobknob Theater Company
This is the story of August (a clown) who happens to fall in love with Amy
(his ex-accountant-now-performance-artist neighbor). Romance leads August
into battle with a singing whale, a hormonal goddess of the seas, and the
Village People with nothing but a paddle and a bearded sidekick to aid him.
Told through outrageously physical and original theater, "August and Amy" is
a tale of courage, love, and those little quirks that make us human.
A fantastical love story about a clown and his neighbor, inspired by the
works of Dante, Chuck Jones, Homer (the poet), A.A. Milne, Herman Melville,
The Village People, Samuel Beckett, Burl Ives, and Charlie Chaplin. Don't
stop believin'.
