music, performance art, choreography, video. Artists include: Cody Bourdot, Jaime Carrera, Alicia Dvorak, Sarah Gordon, Natasha Hassett, Tyler Jensen, Jeffry Lusiak, Raymond Rea, Heather Spear, and Helena Thompson.
Recently featured on ALL THINGS CONSIDERED, Purest Spiritual Pigs is a project instigated by Helena Thompson. The intent of Purest Spiritual Pigs is to amass a revolving door of artists for collaboration. These works include: music, visual, conceptual and performing arts. The artists that Thompson invites into Purest Spiritual Pigs are chosen because there is a common thread between them and/or she feels that Purest Spiritual Pigs works can grow by their collaborating.
The Swine Show is a showcase of these different collaborations, reflecting works conceived between 2007 and the present.
The show will include: live performances of songs from Purest Spiritual Pigs’ new CD(Body Misses), video documentation of Purest Spiritual Pigs conceptual work,
and SHREDS TWO *. In Shreds, a group of choreographers and video artists are given 20 different “remnant soundtracks” to choose from. The remnant tracks are the unused byproducts of recent Purest Spiritual Pigs projects. They range from 30 seconds, to 2 minutes and can be used in any way the artist chooses (looping, combining, adding, butchering etc). The artists then create work to the soundtracks they choose. *SHREDS ONE took place in 2007.
