Bryant Lake Bowl and Theater is a charming venue in Minneapolis, known for its intimate atmosphere and vibrant programming. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door.
Doors typically open 30 or 60 minutes before the show; please check the event page on our website for specific times.

Good Camel Live
Good Camel Live is a lively political comedy show combining improv, storytelling, and stand-up, happening every first Wednesday of the month at Bryant Lake Bowl Theater. A core improv team performs alongside a rotating guest storyteller or comedian, who performs two longer sets and wraps up the night. The improv is created on the spot, inspired by current events. The stories are personal, and the comedy is rooted in politics and real-life experiences. Some moments are hilarious, others heartfelt. No matter what, it's live, honest, and happening right in the moment. The show is curated with BIPOC perspectives but welcomes everyone.

Cole Sarar's SciFi Reading Hour
A live reading series featuring original science fiction from Cole and special guest writers, underscored with futurist soundscapes by accomplished musicians. Two writers spin original science fiction, and one musician underscores the readings with complementary auditory landscapes. We focus on Science Fiction so that we as a society are consciously building our futures, to see and talk about ourselves and each other in new ways- to see people of color, women, queer folks, and immigrants in the future- to show all of us in positions of power, and to show different ways of leading, etc. Science fiction examines not only the effects of continuing to mistreat the planet, humans, plants, and animals; but also envisions new ways of doing things (and remembers ancient ways of doing and being in the future).
Thursday October 8 featuring:
T. Aaron Cisco is an Amazon-bestselling author of speculative fiction whose work blends science fiction, horror, and social allegory with character-driven storytelling. He is the author of over two dozen novels, novellas, OpEds, essays, and articles including the Land of Bone trilogy (The Unbanished, The Unrested, The Unbodied), Black Nerd Blue Box: The Wibbly Wobbly Memoirs of a Lonely Whovian, Steal the F**king Moon and most recently, The Hex Worker Diaries. Cisco's writing frequently explores systems of power, exploitation, and survival in near-future and speculative settings.
Beyond his own works, Cisco was a contributing writer to OUTSIDE IN REGENERATES: 163 New New Perspectives on 163 Classic DOCTOR WHO Stories from ATB Publishing, and Fantastic!: A Celebration of Fans Discovering Doctor Who from Zepo Publishing, received the MN Society of Professional Journalists Page One Award, recognition as one of the Ten Black Change-Makers Influencing the Twin Cities Arts Scene, and has been featured on Hennepin County Libraries’ prestigious Minnesota Black Authors list.. An unapologetic, lifelong nerd, At the heart of everything Cisco does is an unrelenting commitment to “squee,” the pure joy and excitement that comes from sharing stories, celebrating imagination, and connecting with others through the power of creativity.
Erik Ostrom (he/him) is a composer, improviser, comedian, and wise guy. He can occasionally be seen in Minneapolis performing with his comedic improv duo Two’s Company, jamming with jazz cats at Berlin, or biking on the reconstructed Hennepin Avenue. 2026 projects include a performance with the Liverpool Improvisation Festival ensemble, a mostly-composed score for Destiny Davison’s “Doozy” at the Minnesota Fringe Festival, and a mostly-improvised score for Wet Splat's upcoming ""TALES of TERROR...from the TOMB!!!” at the Twin Cities Horror Festival.

That Felt Good is a weekly variety show brought to you by a fuzzy puppet and their ragtag team of skin-covered best friends.
Every Friday night, we kick things off with a special guest comedian, followed by a hodgepodge of long-form improv with some music/film/miscellany scattered in.
With a cast of a Henson Company-trained puppeteer, a clown, an opera singer, and your favorite improvisers and performers, TFG promises that no two shows will be the same, but every one will be the weirdest thing you've seen all week.

The Theater of Public Policy: Hennepin County Attorney Debate
All eyes are on the Hennepin County Attorney’s race this election cycle. Learn more about the office and the issues at stake through…an improv show?
The county attorney has a huge hand in deciding what is and is not prosecuted across the region. In this candidate debate, moderator Tane Danger will ask HC Attorney hopefuls Anders Folk and Cedrick Frazier about their priorities for the office, from criminal cases to family court. Our cast of improvisers will listen in and use the debate as their real-time inspiration for totally unscripted theater scenes.
There will be hard-hitting questions, spirited debate, and even more spirited improv comedy. Make civic participation that much more fun by attending this one-of-a-kind live show!

OCE's World Music Night with special guests SaMa Duo
SaMa Duo are Sara Pajunen (violin/Hardanger D'amore) and Maja Radovanlija (classical guitar). They have been performing together for the past two years, developing a distinctive musical voice that blends Northern European folk traditions, Balkan music, and improvisation, all grounded in their years of Western classical training.
Maja Radovanlija was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia (now Serbia). She studied classical guitar for almost 20 years in Serbia, Vienna and Bloomington, IN. Along the way, Maja collaborated with musicians in a variety of genres and became interested in improvised music through Balkan traditional music, jazz, intuitive free improv, and experimental music. Some of the projects and ensembles Maja works with on regular bases are Szilard Mezéi ensemble, Ensemble Studio6, MM Guitar duo, Balkan music trio with brothers Teofilović, and SaMa Duo (duo with violinist/hardingar d’amore musician/artist Sara Pajunen).
Sara Pajunen is an interdisciplinary artist specializing in music and the sonic arts. Born into the immigrant culture of Minnesota’s Mesabi Iron Range, her work melds folk traditions, ecological listening, improvisation, visual media, and archival material to explore our evolving relationships with landscape, history, and culture. A violinist and hardanger d’amore player, Pajunen holds classical music degrees from the United States and Finland and a Master of Music in Contemporary Improvisation from New England Conservatory. She has released six albums and performed extensively throughout Europe and North America, currently splitting her time between Minnesota and Helsinki, Finland.
Other Country Ensemble (OCE) features veteran musicians from the Twin Cities, performing traditional music from the northern Mediterranean region ranging from Spanish Sephardic to Greek and Turkish music, and original compositions inspired by the regions. They weave tales of the history of the music from 711 A.D on and the fusion of sounds that spread through the Mediterranean, as well as the instruments they perform.

A songwriters circle style show featuring stripped back super short sets from some of your favorite Twin Cities songwriters including Scrunchies, Sophie Hiroko, Friend., bird dog, and Mouthful! Cabaret queen Mistress Ginger dives into the seductive, subversive world of Kurt Weill, conjuring a musical journey from the seedy beer halls of Weimar Berlin to the bright lights of the American theater — and back again. With Casey Rafn at the piano, Ginger spins a fantastical tale of desire, exile, reinvention, and the search for love and belonging, all through the irresistible songs of one of the 20th century’s great theatrical composers.
Featuring “Mack the Knife,” “Surabaya Johnny,” “September Song,” “My Ship,” and more, Bewitched by Weill is an evening of dark humor, theatrical enchantment, and music that still casts a potent spell.
Mistress Ginger (she/her) is a Twin Cities-based cabaret artist, singer, dancer, and storyteller known for whimsical theatrical productions blending glamour, humor, heart, and imagination. Since 2006, Mistress Ginger has presented original cabaret works at venues including Bryant-Lake Bowl Theater, Crooners Supper Club, The Woman's Club of Minneapolis, and the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts. Equal parts showgirl, dreamer, and master of ceremonies, she invites audiences into musical worlds inspired by classic cabaret, queer nightlife, old Hollywood, and the transformative power of song. Casey Rafn enjoys a varied career as a pianist, music director, and recording artist. Recent collaborations include performances with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, and Cantus, with the Star Tribune praising his playing as having done "extraordinary things with the music all evening." He is a member of the Latin Grammy-nominated trio Trés, which premiered and recorded a new work by composer Angélica Negrón earlier this year. He serves as pianist for VocalEssence and the Basilica of Saint Mary, and has held positions at the University of Minnesota School of Music and Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists.

That Felt Good is a weekly variety show brought to you by a fuzzy puppet and their ragtag team of skin-covered best friends.
Every Friday night, we kick things off with a special guest comedian, followed by a hodgepodge of long-form improv with some music/film/miscellany scattered in.
With a cast of a Henson Company-trained puppeteer, a clown, an opera singer, and your favorite improvisers and performers, TFG promises that no two shows will be the same, but every one will be the weirdest thing you've seen all week.

Good Camel Live is a lively political comedy show combining improv, storytelling, and stand-up, happening every first Wednesday of the month at Bryant Lake Bowl Theater. A core improv team performs alongside a rotating guest storyteller or comedian, who performs two longer sets and wraps up the night. The improv is created on the spot, inspired by current events. The stories are personal, and the comedy is rooted in politics and real-life experiences. Some moments are hilarious, others heartfelt. No matter what, it's live, honest, and happening right in the moment. The show is curated with BIPOC perspectives but welcomes everyone.

Drawing upon her vast knowledge of Brit Box mysteries featuring weathered heroines solving heinous crimes in sensible shoes and bad weather, as well as a certain fearlessness born of having to break down queer theory to a gaggle of neckbeards in a black box theater, toiling in a vast and dingy office with the cold cases that just aren't cold to them lit not by bare bulbs but the light of dozens of burning bras, one for each year the Equal Rights Amendment has been pending, our sapphic sleuth has tracked the patriarchy to it's hideout where it's licking its wounds and rebranding itself as irony.
Holly Hughes is a writer and performer, the author of four books and a recipient of the 2026 Ruth Maleczech Award as well as a Guggenheim fellow. They are currently a Professor at the Penny W. Stamps School of Art and Design at the University of Michigan.
Katie Pearl is co founder of the acclaimed PearlDAmour theater company, which has produced over the last 25 years a wide range of ambitious and diverse performances including everything site specific installations to immersive multimedia plays. She currently is on faculty at Wesleyan University.

Join us as we continue our Halloween season with this delightful mockumentary about taking some ancient, blood thirsty, calculating vampires and putting them in a suburban household, only to treat their mortal existence like a mundane reality tv show… Ok so maybe they’re not calculating. Maybe the blood thirst is a little mid, but we’re talking real vampires here folks and we want you to join us as our cast brings 3-4 episodes to life! Not only will our cast be playing the game and taking drinks on cues, but you, our audience will also have cues to drink to! There’s no playbook for how to run a foundation well…or is there?
Join us for an evening of conversation and comedy, where we’ll explore the ins and outs of strategic giving with Jen Ford Reedy, president of the Bush Foundation and author of Please Be Good at Philanthropy. Host and moderator Tane Danger will ask questions about how to do grantmaking transparently and effectively; what makes a good board; and what role foundations can and should play in shaping our communities. Then, our cast will improvise their way through unscripted scenes that recap the conversation and draw out new perspectives.
No matter your background, we’ll all learn a lot about being generous—whether with millions of dollars in grants or just with your laughter at an improv comedy show.

The book combines her love of teaching, her experience consulting, and her philanthropic nerdiness. She has worked in foundations since 2009. The Theater of Public Policy (T2P2) turns expert interviews into unscripted comedy. Here's how it works:
1) ONSTAGE INTERVIEW: Shows open with a lively conversation with a newsmaker or policy wonk. Our show host asks the guests real, considered questions to explore the topic in depth while keeping the conversation fun.
2) IMPROV: That conversation inspires a team of Minnesota’s most talented improvisers, who create entirely spontaneous sketches based on the interview.
3) AUDIENCE Q&A: We turn it over to the audience to ask questions about what they’ve heard, and our guests give answers live onstage.
4) MORE IMPROV! The show wraps with a final round of improv from the cast based on everything they’ve heard from the guest(s) and the audience.

Mizna celebrates the twentieth edition of the Twin Cities Arab Film Festival, the largest and longest running Arab Film Festival in the Midwest, September 23–27, 2026, at the Main Cinema and Walker Art Center. Mizna has been marking this milestone with an ongoing, multi-venue program, Looking Forward, Looking Back, which centers images from the history of SWANA filmmaking and our past festivals. Through this framework, we confront the visual record, demanding more from the archive than a sentimental look at the past. While SWANA films have been repeatedly plundered, twisted, and aligned to colonial narratives, this year, our festival continues to consider what has been overlooked, discovering liberatory lessons the past might offer the present and future.

Gary Giggles and Lottie Schnitz were once America's favorite comedy couple. Then came the fights, the divorce, and decades spent happily avoiding each other. Unfortunately, they signed something.

Cole Sarar's SciFi Reading Hour
A live reading series featuring original science fiction from Cole and special guest writers, underscored with futurist soundscapes by accomplished musicians. Two writers spin original science fiction, and one musician underscores the readings with complementary auditory landscapes. We focus on Science Fiction so that we as a society are consciously building our futures, to see and talk about ourselves and each other in new ways- to see people of color, women, queer folks, and immigrants in the future- to show all of us in positions of power, and to show different ways of leading, etc. Science fiction examines not only the effects of continuing to mistreat the planet, humans, plants, and animals; but also envisions new ways of doing things (and remembers ancient ways of doing and being in the future).

Marissa Lingen is a freelance writer who lives in the Minneapolis suburbs with her family. She is the author of over three hundred works of short science fiction and fantasy and has no intention of stopping any time soon. She has many opinions on Moomintrolls. She has been known to cross international borders in search of rare tisanes. Her personal relationships with bodies of water are intense though eccentric. Her interests include community connection in SFF, particularly including people of all ages and abilities in portrayals of worlds that illuminate our own changing climate needs. She also likes to make nerds laugh. Her debut novella, A Dubious Clamor, comes out September 15 from Horned Lark Press.
Martin Law is a Minneapolis-based musician and scholar. Over the past three decades he has contributed sounds to a variety of projects for film, radio, podcasts, art installations, live performances, psychoacoustic research, and for an esteemed local SciFi Reading Hour. Martin owes his academic career to Yanni (yes, THAT Yanni), to Jodi, and to accidentally insulting his boss's taste in music that one time--- an incident which can be recounted only in the form of a shaggy dog story. He has taught courses on speech, rhetoric, ethics, and cultural studies at colleges and universities across the country. His current scholarship on Blackness and disability highlights the power of fugitive speech to rescue radical futures.

OCE's World Music Night with special guests TAM Edo Bayashi Ensemble
TaikoArts Midwest's (TAM) Edo Bayashi team presents traditional Japanese Edo festival music and stage dance performance. This music originates from festival street music, dating from 1603-1867 in Edo, Japan, and brought to the stage through the highly esteemed group, Wakayama Shachu, who continues to instruct this team. TAM's Edo Bayashi Team is one of few in North America, equipped with a complete set of officially recognized instruments for Edo Bayashi, and are one of even fewer studying the advanced versions. The Edo Bayashi team is dedicated to further study the music to deepen, share and contribute to expand the cultural diversity in MN arts.

Performers:
Jeff Ellsworth (Taiko) is excited to be performing Edo Bayashi at Bryant Lake Bowl and would like to thank the members of Other Country Ensemble for their support and attendance at TAM taiko events.
Susan Tanabe (Kane, Taiko) has played taiko since 2005 and is a member of the TAM Edo Bayashi Ensemble, Big Gravity, Ensō Daiko, Jodaiko, and the North American Kasuga Onigumi. She also freelances with other ensembles, orchestras, and artists.
Junko Kumamoto (Mai, Taiko) is dedicated to present and sharing Japanese traditional performing arts through performance and the essence of its culinary culture as a Japanese restaurant owner.
Chiaki O'Brien (Mai, Shinobue, Taiko) is a native Japanese, never played Taiko prior to moving to Minnesota in 2004. She started taking Taiko classes in 2008 and has been hooked since then. She joined the Edo Bayashi Ensemble later. She found out about the existence of Edo Bayashi because she does taiko, not because she was born and grew up in Japan.
Hiroshi Yoshino (Shinobue, Taiko) Though raised around festival drumming in Japan, Hiroshi Yoshino first picked up bachi (drumsticks) in 2016 after moving to Minnesota. He enjoys playing taiko and fue (bamboo flute) as well as composing original music.
Emily Harada (Kane, Taiko) started taiko as a child at the Midwest Buddhist Temple/ Ho Etsu Taiko in Chicago. She had the fortune to watch Edo Bayashi throughout Tokyo, and started practicing this music in Honolulu at the Taiko Center of the Pacific under Kenny Endo, and later with Ho Etsu. She is happy to play with TaikoArts Midwest's ensemble.
The Hosts
Other Country Ensemble (OCE) features veteran musicians from the Twin Cities, performing traditional music from the northern Mediterranean region ranging from Spanish Sephardic to Greek and Turkish music, and original compositions inspired by the regions. They weave tales of the history of the music from 711 A.D on and the fusion of sounds that spread through the Mediterranean, as well as the instruments they perform.

The Buffalo Show
Oyate Hotanin delivers! We have a good show for you featuring arágidi, a 2026 First People's Fund Native Performing Arts Fellow and a citizen of the Three Affiliated Tribes of Mandan and Hidatsa descent. Their work examines euphoric grief and mournful mirth. Existing at the crossroads of the modern and traditional, they aim to use performance as a method to activate and teach audiences about the importance of honoring all that humanity has to offer.
