Oyate Hotanin (“Voice of the People”) returns for another adventure, featuring Dakota elder poet and storyteller Strong Buffalo, performing with Joe Savage, steel guitar extraordinaire from Fond Du Lac.

Special Guests:

George Bettelyoun, Pine Ridge Lakota, Multi-Disciplinary artist. "I’m two different people. My Gemini self, two spirit and cross culture I find myself perfectly equipped to speak to the masses. lol. jk!"

Karen Townsend is a songwriter, accordionist, and vocalist who is inspired by her family, her relationships, and her bodywork and healing practice. She considers music and songwriting to be an extension of her work in the healing arts. Singing became a soul-saving part of her own healing journey and a way to access and explore the most tender, vulnerable parts of herself. The accordion found its way into her life through her grandmother. She resides in Minneapolis with her spouse and two beautiful children.
