Coffee Break Entertainment Presents: Coffee Break with Friends, A little showcase featuring performances by Minneapolis based groups The Daily Norm, RJ Vocal, and Willows. Come on out for an evening of indie-pop, pop, and instrumental guitar work. The Daily Norm: The Daily Norm is the solo project of Kae Layne, a guitarist from Connecticut. His fingerstyle technique is described as delicate, atmospheric, and thought-provoking. Inspired by the likes of Lindsay Buckingham, Paul McCartney and Bruce Cockburn, he takes what he learns and adds it to his style. His hope is that through his playing and his music, he can reach and connect with others. RJ Vocal: RJ Vocal performed for many years as a singer and occasional piano player in a cover band. He started songwriting and playing guitar in June 2019. By the end of 2023, he had written 24 songs. His lyrics are known for their personal stories of love and relationships. His melodies are classically beautiful. His voice is powerful and captivating, drawing the listener into the song. Willows: Willows is an alternative folk ensemble based in Minneapolis, MN, which combines elements of soul, rock, and bossa nova into a genre-bending sound of its own. Starting out as a lively duo at the University of Minnesota, co-founders Colin Peters and Jada Brown have been writing music together for seven years. Willows has since grown into a collective of musician friends aiming to depict the beauty of the natural world through harmony.
