Songversations: we have been told this is a good job

  • Bryant Lake Bowl 810 W Lake St Minneapolis United States (map)

The women of Songverations are really excited to share with you their thoughts (and songs and stories) about work! In their latest show “we have been told this is a good job” they explore things like email (no one knows why it was invented and maybe it was a dare?) and sick leave and being busy and how many project management software online collaborations and productivity platforms can one person be on before they quietly quit or starting eating cereal for dinner? We hope to see you there and we promise not to network!

Who are the women behind Songversations?
Shanan Custer, a seasoned player in the Twin Cities theater, sketch, and improv scene, has been called a “clever and inventive voice in comic theater” but she would rather you not refer to her as a “comedienne” because that’s such a weird word. Theater artist and musician Rhiannon Fiskradatz, when she's not promoting her first solo ep, Anthems for the Apocalypse, can be found performing on stages as an actor or singer-songwriter or costuming shows behind the scenes. After a few Zooms and a whole lotta faith, Shanan & Rhiannon brought their first episode to the BLB stage in 2022 and they are so excited to continue sharing their unique brand of storytelling and song with a growing audience.

Shanan Custer is a theater maker, writer, director, and improviser who has worked with the Brave New Workshop, DalekoArts, Interact, Strike Theater, Theatre Pro Rata, HUGE Improv Theater, Special When Lit, The Mystery Café, Mu Performing Arts, Full Circle Theater, Park Square Theatre, and Theater in the Round. She is also part of the Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society, which you can also see at the BLB! When she’s not onstage she is teaching theater and acting at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.

Rhiannon Fiskradatz is a multidisciplinary storyteller with a creative practice that spans theatre, music, puppetry, dance, circus & visual art. She writes & performs her own music as MaMa Faerie and covers a multitude of genres as a vocalist with The Argyle Street Trio & the Riff Rangers. In her capacity as a costume & accessory designer, she has worked with more than fifty professional, amateur, and educational organizations. She has an Upper Midwest Emmy, has been featured in Beadwork magazine, and was awarded the "Spirit Of Powderhorn" at the Powderhorn Art Fair. Check out her music on all streaming platforms!

Tickets are $15. Doors open at 6PM.
Our full restaurant and bar service is available in the theater! Order from your seat and enjoy the show, we'll take care of the rest.
