Improv comedy inspired by local music.
Every month, a different local musician performs their original music. Having listened closely, the comedians from local improv group The Local Music Scene then improvise comedic scenes based on the lyrics.
They are an improv group that has trained and performed at various local improv theaters, including The Brave New Workshop, ComedySportz Twin Cities, HUGE Theater and Jesters.
All of them either ARE local musicians or enjoy local music. At the VERY least, they’ve heard the term "local music.”
September Guest: The Carnivorous Birds
The Carnivorous Birds are a newly formed group with an array of backgrounds. This mash-up of sounds orbits around folk songwriting elements while acting out on progressive habits. Isaac Hill's cerebral approach to lyrics sits atop Taylor Jergenson's and Matt Holmes's visceral and proficient musicianship. Their first studio EP is "Gwendolyn!" and was released on July 21st, 2017.
