The Buffalo Show

  • Bryant Lake Bowl 810 W Lake St Minneapolis United States (map)

Oyate Hotanin delivers! We have a good show for you featuring arágidi, a 2026 First People's Fund Native Performing Arts Fellow and a citizen of the Three Affiliated Tribes of Mandan and Hidatsa descent. Their work examines euphoric grief and mournful mirth. Existing at the crossroads of the modern and traditional, they aim to use performance as a method to activate and teach audiences about the importance of honoring all that humanity has to offer.

Audience feedback:

"Buffalo is a strong and wise man with a tender heart who speaks softly but powerfully and whose artistic work and voice I consider a national treasure."

"I have long admired Oyate Hotanin’s commitment to cultural revitalization, truth-telling, and healing through the arts."

"I believe in the power of storytelling to heal, to teach, and to create bridges across differences. Oyate Hotanin has been doing this work for years—with heart, integrity, and vision."

“The different times I have played the Buffalo Show, I valued the intergenerational experience, and the accessibility this space provides. For audience and performers who come in there is value to be in a Native space. This is also true for our nonnative artistic partners and audience, they see us in a modern cultural context which can help them connect and learn from the thoughts and teaching that show up in our work.” ~Welby June, Performing Artist
