Lonely Like Me, a new movie musical tells the story of four couples through a series of vignettes chronicling a slice of each relationship. Fans of Anthony Omodt-Lopezs work will recognize his characteristic nostalgic lyrics over beautifully dissonant music in this refreshing take on how relationships fall apart. The melancholy storytelling provides a vehicle for viewers to think back on times they have been in love or had their hearts broken. Written from personal events, each song portrays an aspect of the universal experience of falling in and out of love.
Grace Becker: Grace is a student at the University of Minnesota studying Strategic
Communication, Theatre Arts, and Spanish. "Lonely Like Me" is her first cinematic experience, and she is so grateful for the opportunity to do what she loves on camera! Special thanks to her incredible cast for their hard work, and especially to Anthony for his countless hours of work dedicated to this production -- and for the rides back home to St. Paul. :) She is blessed to be a part of "Lonely Like Me" and hopes you love it as much as she does!
Elizabeth Belfiori: What a ride! Musical Theater is my heart and soul, so when the marvelous Anthony brought me on board to be in his musical I couldn't have been happier. My love for theatre and singing was plowed and sown in my hometown Eagan, MN where my theater roles ranged from tweeting about as Gertrude McFuzz, to flying with kites as Mary Poppins! Choir teachers, my friends, and my family all inspire me to do more of what I love every single day, and I could not be more thankful! "Lonely Like Me" has been my first experience singing for the camera, and the heart put into it by the entire crew surely made the experience a special one.
Isaac Bont: "Isaac Bont is currently a senior in his final semester within the UMN - Twin Cities BA - Theatre program! He feels lucky to have trained/collaborated/performed with great companies and institutions such as Combustible Company, Festival Theatre, Mixed Precipitation, UW - Eau Claire Theatre, UMN - Twin Cities Theatre, and UMN - Twin Cities Opera Theatre. Isaac is forever grateful to family, friends, and the performing artists/craftsmen/collaborators who continue to inspire him in this life and the next!"
Zarah Nesser: Zarah Nesser graduated from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a BA in theatre performance. She performed in Avenue Q, Dames at Sea, Violet the Musical, and Women on the Verge at North Hennepin Community College. She collaborated on Chekhov's A Living Chattel and worked on several student films through the U. She acted in the music video Rounding Third by the band A Better Hand. Upcoming: she will be performing in High Fidelity showing at the Electric Fetus.
Anthony Omodt-Lopez: Anthony Omodt-Lopez is currently finishing his last semester at the U of M, graduating at the ripe old age of 19. Lonely Like Me is his baby/brainchild. As the writer of the screenplay, music and lyrics, director, producer, and part of the cast, he hopes, from the bottom of his cold, broken heart, that audiences love this musical as much as he does. He couldnt write a bio without taking a second to thank everyone that made this possible. Hed like to extend thanks to his cinematographer, Noah Gunderson, his parents, and his amazingly talented and limitlessly patient cast for all of their hard work and their belief in this project.
Natalie Shaw: Natalie is a student at the University of Minnesota studying Journalism, Theatre Arts, and Cinema & Media Culture Studies. Natalie's interest in film production and acting motivated her to audition for Anthony's "Lonely like Me" short musical production. Her love of music has also come in handy for this project! Natalie has gained a lot from her first-ever cinematic musical acting experience and owes many thanks for all the time and hard work put into the project by the whole production team. Natalie would like to specifically thank Anthony for the blood, sweat, and tears he has put into this complex project. She's had a lovely time contributing to the film and is hoping for a squeakquel.
Camille Vye: My life lately has consisted of a little jumping around from place to place. I grew up singing and playing the piano and loved being involved in community theatres, (which is how I met Anthony, through WCT's Les Miserables, in 2015!) This fall, I got to catch up with Anthony and I found out about Lonely Like Me. I auditioned, got cast, and here we are. This production has been a major learning experience, and has definitely helped me appreciate feeling uncomfortable, the sound of my voice, and the way my face looks. Lonely Like Me has helped make my transition to the Twin Cities easier, and it has given my life a little more direction lately. I am so amazed at the incredible talent that went into making this production possible and it's been a blast working with this group of people.
Madeline Wall: Madeline Wall has been involved in many a musical onstage, but never before onscreen - much thanks to Anthony for this new and valuable experience. Madeline is a theatre student at the University of Minnesota, where she recently acted in A Midsummer Nights Dream and In The Next Room, or the vibrator play and took a seminar on the order of the cosmos. She also writes and directs plays and skis marathons. For more info about Madeline, feel free to peruse www.MadelineWallTheatre.com .
