Songversations is Shanan Custer and Rhiannon Fiskradatz (as well as a growing chorus of mothers, maidens and crones throughout the Twin Cities) that began in 2022, a few months before the overturn of Roe v. Wade. Since then, Songverations has performed at the Bryant Lake Bowl as well as in the Twin Cities Horror Festival, funneling their collective artistry (and rage) into shows, community gatherings and activism. Weaving together stories, songs and spells, Songversations creates singular experiences that embrace multiple genres, ceremony and ritual. Rhiannon a.k.a Mama Faerie, is a witchy, feminist, multidisciplinary storyteller with a creative practice that spans theatre, music, puppetry, dance, craft & visual art. Shanan describes herself as a theater maker, actor, director, writer, improviser and educator about town. We dissent. We resist. We are burned. Join us!
Shanan Custer is a theater maker, writer, director and improviser who has worked with the Ghoulish Delights, Brave New Workshop, DalekoArts, History Theater, Interact, Strike Theater, Theatre Pro Rata, HUGE Improv Theater, Special When Lit, The Mystery Café, Mu Performing Arts, Full Circle Theater, Park Square Theatre, Theater in the Round and many others. Currently, Shanan is working with Unlabeled Theatre Company, a new company that creates inclusive theatre performances, featuring theatre artists with cognitive and/or physical disabilities or who are neurodivergent. She is also part of the Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society, which you can also see at the BLB as well as Crooners! When she's not onstage she is teaching theater and performance at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.
Rhiannon Fiskradatz is a witchy, feminist, multidisciplinary storyteller with a creative practice that spans theatre, music, puppetry, dance, craft & visual art. She writes & performs her own music as MaMa Faerie, and in 2024 turned her debut solo album into an experiential rock opera performed at the MN Fringe Festival. She covers a multitude of genres as a vocalist with The Argyle Street Trio & alt rock band 10 Items Or Fewer. In her capacity as a costume & accessory designer, she has worked with more than fifty professional, amateur and educational organizations. She has an Upper Midwest Emmy, has been featured in Beadwork magazine and was awarded the "Spirit Of Powderhorn" at the Powderhorn Art Fair. Tickets are $15. Door open at 6pm. Online ticket sales end at 5pm.
