Dogpile is a mess. Folksy, country-like, and roots music adjacent - they can’t quite keep it all straight. Years of howling in basements and bars has left them reckless yet patient. They may be a bit ragged, but they will always be stumbling proud.

Sarah Arnold-Simondet

Since 2013, The Local Music Scene has showcased the talents of over a hundred local musicians. Philip Simondet created The Local Music Scene over a decade ago. At the time he was hosting the music open mic at The Chatterbox Pub and came up with the idea as a way to get more people to hear the songs. "People would play these incredible songs they wrote, and it was mostly the same regulars that would ever hear it. I started The Local Music Scene so more people would hear my favorites," said Simondet. Collaborating with other artists is a common theme in everything JimJam Media produces. In addition to The Local Music Scene, the duo is also responsible for THE PAiNTERS (which features local painters, The Residency at BLB (which features 2 local improv groups weekly), and Holidating (an improvised musical). They also perform as SAPS, "the most interactive improv duo in the world."
For this run, we've handed control over to guest director, Eric Heiberg. Heiberg is a longtime fan and frequent LMS improviser. He had a vision for how to fine-tune the format of the show (which, in improviser jargon, is a Harold/Armando with songs instead of games/stories). He's handpicked a cast of incredible improvisers. His rehearsal process involves drilling skills and the introduction of a BRAND NEW ELEMENT to the show! We can't wait for you to see what he's come up with.
